Hi, I'm Elena — I run Lumen.

I started Lumen in 2015 with one camera, a borrowed backdrop and a stubborn belief: the best portraits happen when people forget the camera is there. Eleven years and 640+ sessions later, our little Mission District studio still works the same way — unhurried sessions, real conversation, gentle direction, and light chased with an obsession bordering on unreasonable. Whether it's your wedding day, your newborn's first weeks, or the headshot that finally lands you the job, we treat your story like it matters. Because it does.
